The Jade Dynasty Story

Stone of Heaven,
Worn on Earth

In Chinese culture, jade — 玉 (yù) — is more than a gemstone. It is a moral philosophy made tangible: its hardness represents virtue; its translucence, wisdom; its warmth against skin, benevolence. Emperors wore it, poets wrote of it, lovers exchanged it.

"Better to be broken as a jade than to remain whole as a tile."
— Chinese proverb

The Jade Dynasty Collection draws from three jade traditions: the white nephrite of Hetian, revered since antiquity; the pale celadon of Qinghai, used in Song Dynasty court jewelry; and the vivid imperial green of jadeite, synonymous with Qing Dynasty prestige.

Each stone is hand-selected from source quarries, evaluated for colour consistency and structural integrity, then worked by artisans trained in the traditional 'patient approach' — each jade piece taking up to three days of hand-grinding to reach its final form.

How It's Made

The Art of
Jade Working

01
Stone Selection

Each stone is hand-selected by our founder at source quarries in Qinghai and Xinjiang. Only stones with perfect tonal consistency and no internal fracturing are accepted.

02
Rough Shaping

Master carvers at our Suzhou atelier rough-shape the jade using iron wire saws and gradually finer abrasive grits — a process unchanged for three thousand years.

03
Hand Polishing

The final surface is achieved through up to 48 hours of hand polishing, moving through 14 different grits from coarse diamond to the finest burnishing leather. No shortcuts.

04
Gold Setting

Our goldsmith hand-fabricates each 18K setting to the exact dimensions of the stone — no standardised casting. Each setting is crafted specifically for one stone and one stone only.
